Before They Had a Name

All Chronicles > World of Sama

Open for now

For a long time, before anyone else knew about it, the Sama existed only as a shape: shadows that moved, cast by a hallway bulb onto the wall of a child’s bedroom.

The shapes changed over time. Then, from shadow, they moved into light. The Sama began appearing in black marker on white paper. Their world was entering mine. Or, more precisely: my world was revealing theirs.

As I let my mind wander freely, they multiplied, taking on new and even more original shapes. Each new Sama carried a role known only to itself. I didn’t have access to their world. I only allowed it to come out into the open.

One thing was certain: the Sama were there to protect humans, full of benevolence. Their world exists in another dimension, in a quantum state beyond our understanding. And that’s what makes the Sama fascinating: humble and modest, and yet so far above so many of us.
